02Why people say they keep half
They mean promotional credit, not tax. Credit loaded by a loyalty promotion can be played but not withdrawn. Load 500 of your own, get 500 promotional, walk out without playing and you are handed back your 500 — half of what the screen showed.
03Getting paid without a cashier
A Mexican-licensed online platform pays winnings to a bank account or e-wallet. Prize tax still applies by law; each operator publishes how it withholds.

Do I have to file a return?
Only if prizes exceed 600,000 pesos in a year. Below that the withholding is final.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes. The cashier issues one showing the amounts withheld.
